Jane Iredale Spring Review

Is it finally spring? Maybe even a touch of summer? Well, it is time for that wonderful summer tan to start and your heavy red lipsticks to go in your drawer only to be replaced with yummy lip balms.

As a cancer survivor I stick to my journey of using healthier products all year long. Summer does not mean I now pull out the chemical infested bug sprays and tanning lotions just to lather them on without thought. Nope. I continue to use my Jane Iredale for smarter product choices.

I always have a tube of lipgloss in my purse. Sometimes a few at a time. I can't get enough of the stuff in the summer. So when I saw one that exfoliated, moisturized, and had lip plumping properties I couldn't help but try it out.

The Sugar & Butter Lip Exfoliator is not only beautifully packaged, but very functional and works great. Wait, I have to add in; it tastes great too! One side of the tube has an organic brown sugar which exfoliates your lips. I can't say I have ever seen this with any over the counter lip balms.

When the exfoliator is brand new, the tip will be very smooth. Once you start using it, you will see the sugar crystals form and the stick get a bit chunky. It becomes rough to the lip's touch. Simply rub onto your lips spreading around some yummy brown sugar and continue to work into your lips. There are no chemical preservatives in the product, so you can eat it right off your lips with no worries. I am not telling you to eat the entire exfoliator, but it is tempting.  Simply flip the tube over for a sheer, silky smooth, pink lip balm. Cool mint and ginger will greet your lips and you will actually feel the plumping action taking affect.  The color is amazing. If you use a small amount you will have a "barely there" color. If you use a bit more the pink color will simmer. Once you get a summer glow it will only enhance the summer color of your skin.

So how do you get a summer glow without risking the chance of burning?  Tantasia is a Self Tanner and Bronzer. This is not specific to just a face bronzer or a body bronzer. Tantasia can be used all over your body and face. (But be aware of the palms of your hands and bottoms of your feet. They don't take well to color!)

You can build your color to fit your desired tan. Start with a quarter size of lotion on a glove covered hand. (If I was applying to my entire body, I used a glove. But I found if I just put it on my face, I had enough time to just wash it off my hands with no color left behind). Apply to small areas at a time and work your way around your body. Wait 24 hours and check color. If more of a tan is desired, apply again for another 24 hours. Building a slow natural glow that friends won't suspect is out of a bottle!

I have used sunless tanners for YEARS on my face to avoid too much foundation. It also helps with a more natural makeup look. My husband's only complaint is the smell of most sunless tanners. Tantasia has a soft fresh citrus smell which did not have him running the other direction. You will receive a full 4.2 oz, which is a great size bottle and so far has been lasting me a while. I received it almost a month ago and it's as if I haven't even used it yet. And I have. I did not have any side effects from this tanner. I wanted to use this product a while to ensure I wasn't going to build up an "orange and streaky" tan and I did not!

I love using Jane Iredale because they believe as I do when it comes to healthier products and breast cancer awareness. Many products will be released in "pink" packaging to help support Living Beyond Breast Cancer. So not only are you purchasing fantastic products but you are supporting a company that supports YOU!

I will continue to try other products from Janeiredale and keep you updated on how they work.
